Blog or Personal Website:

Greetings! I’m Jen, a Society of the Holy Trinity recognised pioneer in Scotland. I’m from beautiful Speyside in Morayshire, and although I have lived all over Scotland, and abroad, I returned to live in the verdant North East along with my wonderful husband and our three children. I have a huge love of them, God, people, the outdoors, good food and good fun. When not walking with my dog I am often gardening or beekeeping. Or just staring at the trees and sky and enjoying the beauty and awesomeness of God’s Creation, feeling joy at being alive and knowing God’s Presence.

I spend a lot of time contemplating the goodness of God and the abundance God provides in this world, as well as praying to God about the suffering, poverty and inequality which God asks all of us to help mend. For me that can mean simple things like distributing food for the local Foodbank or spending time eating with and listening to other people or guiding folk in prayer and contemplation. I also lead worship, preach, teach and offer Holy Communion in local churches. Currently my favourite work is the beginnings of a new monastic community, the Lazarus Community. I believe in healthy and genuine community, with friends, old or new, as a way of shining some light into what can be a lonely, cold and, at times, dark world. By joining together as a community, in stillness and fellowship around Christ, as well as sharing our daily lives and challenges, we change. And that's what can change the world.

Role in the Society: Chair of the Chapter of the SoHT
